Placement Alternatives Commission

Purpose:

The Placement Alternatives Commission, under the Department of Human Services, reviews the effectiveness of programs within its jurisdiction and evaluates requests to establish new residential children’s programs in the county.

Meetings:

Commission meetings are held on the secondThursday of the month from noon- 1:30 p.m. at the El Paso County Citizens’ Service Center, 1675 W. Garden of the Gods Rd., Colorado Springs, CO.

Members and Length of Terms:

The commission consists of members from various government agencies, specialized fields of interest, and the county citizenry that are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for three-year terms. Terms are limited to two full consecutive terms.
