July 28, 2020 – Today, the Board of El Paso County Commissioners recognized July 27th- July 31st as Small Business Week for the Pikes Peak Region with a Proclamation.
Small Business Week is a week meant to highlight the importance of entrepreneurs and small business owners throughout El Paso County. During this week, small business supporters are encouraged to shop small at local businesses to bolster the local economy.
“Small Businesses is the lifeblood of our local economy, said Commissioner Stan VanderWerf. “Our lives are richer with the innovative goods and services small businesses bring. These businesses put food on the table for the owners, their families, and employees. As we commemorate Small Business Week with local events and workshops, and the Awards Celebration, we recognize all our entrepreneurs and small business owners in El Paso County. Let’s all do our part to support small businesses…Buy Local!”
The award-winning Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado will give small business owners an opportunity to learn more about successful practices and ways to help their business thrive.
“Small Business Week is an excellent opportunity for small business owners to take part in educational workshops, to stay resilient through pandemic recovery,” said Aikta Marcoulier, Pikes Peak SBDC Executive Director. “Small Business Week is also an excellent opportunity to celebrate our small businesses by viewing our free virtual awards celebration, honoring the top businesses in our region. This is the biggest small business week of education and celebration for all small businesses in the state of Colorado.”
