Board of Adjustment

Purpose:

Pursuant to C.R.S. §30-28-117 and C.R.S. §30-28-118, the Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) shall appoint a Board of Adjustment. The Board of Adjustment is established by resolution of the BoCC pursuant to State Statutes. The Board of Adjustment shall hear and determine appeals of general relief decisions and dimensional variances in accordance with this Code the Procedures Manual, or as established by Colorado law. Decisions of the Board of Adjustment may not be appealed to the BoCC, but shall be appealed pursuant to State Statute and State Rules of Civil Procedure.

Meetings:

Meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 9 a.m. at the Regional Development Center, 2880 International Circle, Colorado Springs, CO.

Members and Length of Terms:

The Board of Adjustment shall consist of 4 regular members and 3-7 associate members. Regular members are appointed for three (3) years and may serve two (2) consecutive terms. Associate members are appointed for a one (1) year term and may serve two (2) consecutive terms. Members wishing to serve more than two (2) terms may apply to serve additional terms in accordance with Board of County Commissioners rules and procedure.
